Dua busana yang melenggang di Melbourne Fashion Festival itu bertuliskan “Allah berjalan bersamaku”.
Tak ayal desain itu mendapat kecaman berbagai pihak. Salah satunya adalah Australian National Imams Council (Badan Imam Nasional Australia).
Juru bicara badan ini, Bilal Rauf, mengatakan desain itu sebagai tindakan tidak sopan.
“Penggunaan kata dan simbol tertentu yang mengandung makna religius harus digunakan secara hormat,” kata Rauf.
Ia mengatakan, Allah yang berarti Tuhan dalam bahasa Arab pemakaiannya oleh umat Islam dan Kristen berbahasa Arab di seluruh dunia.
“Sangat tidak pantas jika kata seperti itu digunakan dengan tidak sopan dan tidak hormat seperti yang terjadi di Melbourne Fashion Festival”.
Seorang model, Mona Khalifa, juga menyoroti motif itu setelah ia menghadiri acara di malam Sabtu.
“Lihat bagaimana dia (model) berbusana. Dia benar-benar telanjang – dia bahkan tidak memakai bra. Itu tembus pandang, transparan, dan ada tulisan ‘Allah’ di semua tubuhnya,” katanya.

Sementara itu, pihak Melbourne Fashion Festival meminta maaf pada Minggu (12/3). Mereka juga mengumumkan sudah menghapus semua postingan desain dari label Not A Man’s Dream dari media sosial.
“Kami mohon maaf atas semua rasa tersinggung akibat busana dari brand Not A Man’s Dream di acara pada Sabtu malam,” tulis post itu.
Kemudian, pendiri brand itu, Saint James, juga mengungkapkan pernyataan minta maafnya. Ia mengirimkan ucapan minta maafnya kepada The Age yang berbunyi “saya minta maaf atas rasa tersinggung dan rasa tidak hormat akibat bagian tertentu yang saya perlihatkan di runway MFF Sabtu malam”.
